Fire gulps trans­mis­sion substation in Gusau

Kaduna Elec­tric has said the present elec­tric­ity out­age be­ing ex­pe­ri­enced around Gusau and nearby lo­cal gov­ern­ment ar­eas was caused by a fire in­ci­dent at the Gusau trans­mis­sion substation un­der the Trans­mis­sion Com­pany of Nige­ria (TCN).

Kaduna Elec­tric spokesman, Ab­dul­lazeez Ab­dul­lahi, said the fire which oc­curred last Sun­day re­sulted in the loss of valu­able power sup­ply as­sets.

There­fore, it called for un­der­stand­ing from its cus­tomers un­der the Gusau Area Of­fice, not­ing that TCN en­gi­neers were as­sess­ing the ex­tent of the dam­age so that they could com­mence re­pairs and re­place­ment of dam­aged equip­ment.

“We com­mis­er­ate with our sis­ter com­pany, TCN, over their loss and sin­cerely re­gret the in­con­ve­nience the black­out is caus­ing our es­teemed cus­tomers. We ap­peal for your un­der­stand­ing and pa­tience,” Ab­dul­lahi said.

Mean­while, TCN was yet to is­sue a state­ment on the in­ci­dence as at when fil­ing the re­port.
