Chibok Girls: Firm donates 317 chairs, tables to school

- From Kayode Ekundayo, Lagos

A Lagos-based marketing communications firm, X3M Ideas has donated 317 sets of chairs and tables to the students and teachers of Government Girls secondary School, Chibok as it marks its fifth year anniversary.

The GGSS Chibok which has been a subject of global focus due to the Boko Haram insurgence was relocated to another school without adequate provision for chair and tables for learning.

The school was therefore forced to operate evening/ evening session for its students while the host school uses the facility in the morning.

According to Steve Babaeko, chief executive officer, X3M Ideas, from the agency’s analysis of the situation, it was discovered that the students were facing waning confidence and likely to lose self-esteem and focus because of the second best treatment, hence the company’s decision to intervene through its annual Corporate Social Responsibility project.
