Poor par­ents bur­dened by fee hike – NANS

The Na­tional As­so­ci­a­tion of Nige­rian Stu­dents (NANS), Zone C, has said hike in tu­ition fees in some higher in­sti­tu­tions of learn­ing in the coun­try is a heavy bur­den on poor par­ents.

Zone C’s Deputy Co­or­di­na­tor, Mathew Dafoum Naankin, made this known dur­ing a press brief­ing in Lafia by the lead­er­ship of the as­so­ci­a­tion, in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the Youth for Good Gov­er­nance.

He said the de­ci­sion to in­crease fees by the man­age­ment of some higher in­sti­tu­tions of learn­ing had cre­ated un­told hard­ship to par­ents, es­pe­cially the poor ones, thereby af­fect­ing the ed­u­ca­tion of their
