Me­dia, CSOs part­ner to voice cit­i­zens’ de­mands

Jour­nal­ists un­der the aus­pices of Me­dia Plat­form of Voice and Ac­count­abil­ity is part­ner­ing Civil So­ci­ety Or­ga­ni­za­tions (CSOs) to voice the de­mands of the cit­i­zens in Yobe State.

The re­solve of the part­ner­ship, made at the maiden meet­ing of the plat­form held at MNCH2 Con­fer­ence Hall in Da­maturu yes­ter­day, was to strengthen me­dia cov­er­age to en­lighten cit­i­zens on their rights, and rally sup­port for the voice­less.

The Chair­man of the plat­form who is also the Chair­man of the Nige­ria Union of Jour­nal­ists (NUJ) in Yobe State, Com­rade Yusuf A. Isah, said few jour­nal­ists from print and elec­tronic me­dia were se­lected to form the coali­tion to fast track de­vel­op­ment jour­nal­ism in the state.

Ear­lier, Mal. Musa Waziri, who rep­re­sented PERL and a part of the CSOs, com­mended the plat­forms for coming to­gether to fight the cause of cit­i­zens.
