Mort­gage bank gives home loans to work­ers

The fifth batch of ben­e­fi­cia­ries of the Fed­eral Mort­gage Bank of Nige­ria (FMBN) Home Ren­o­va­tion Loan were pre­sented with their cheques yes­ter­day at the 2017 African pub­lic ser­vice cel­e­bra­tion held at the fed­eral min­istry of Fi­nance Au­di­to­rium, Abuja.

In his ad­dress at the oc­ca­sion, Manag­ing Direc­tor of Fed­eral Mort­gage Bank of Nige­ria, Ahmed Dangiwa com­mended the co­op­er­a­tion of the Head of Ser­vice of the Fed­er­a­tion and the Ex­ec­u­tive Sec­re­tary of the Fed­eral Gov­ern­ment Staff Hous­ing Loans Board (FGSHLB) for col­lab­o­rat­ing with the Bank which led to the ap­proval of N643 mil­lion for the fifth batch of the FMBN Home Ren­o­va­tion Loans for 740 Fed­eral Civil Ser­vants.

He said with the cheques pre­sen­ta­tion to the lat­est ben­e­fi­cia­ries, it brings the to­tal loan ap­proved and dis­bursed by FMBN un­der the loan win­dow to fed­eral civil ser­vants through the (FGSHLB) to N1.2 bil­lion for 1,347 ben­e­fi­cia­ries.

He said: “It is wor­thy to men­tion that some of the ben­e­fi­cia­ries un­der this batch have al­ready started re­ceiv­ing alerts for their loan dis­burse­ments.”

The FMBN boss dis­closed that N3.35 bil­lion has so far been dis­bursed to 4,342 ben­e­fi­cia­ries across the coun­try, in­clud­ing fed­eral and State civil ser­vants as well as em­ploy­ees of the or­ga­nized pri­vate sec­tor, un­der the loan win­dow.

He noted that the part­ner­ship will ad­dress the hous­ing needs of civil ser­vants and in line with the pre­sen­ta­tion ad­min­is­tra­tion ef­fort to bridge the hous­ing deficit.
