Mortgage bank gives home loans to workers
The fifth batch of beneficiaries of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) Home Renovation Loan were presented with their cheques yesterday at the 2017 African public service celebration held at the federal ministry of Finance Auditorium, Abuja.
In his address at the occasion, Managing Director of Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Ahmed Dangiwa commended the cooperation of the Head of Service of the Federation and the Executive Secretary of the Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board (FGSHLB) for collaborating with the Bank which led to the approval of N643 million for the fifth batch of the FMBN Home Renovation Loans for 740 Federal Civil Servants.
He said with the cheques presentation to the latest beneficiaries, it brings the total loan approved and disbursed by FMBN under the loan window to federal civil servants through the (FGSHLB) to N1.2 billion for 1,347 beneficiaries.
He said: “It is worthy to mention that some of the beneficiaries under this batch have already started receiving alerts for their loan disbursements.”
The FMBN boss disclosed that N3.35 billion has so far been disbursed to 4,342 beneficiaries across the country, including federal and State civil servants as well as employees of the organized private sector, under the loan window.
He noted that the partnership will address the housing needs of civil servants and in line with the presentation administration effort to bridge the housing deficit.
