IsDB announces $150,000 awards on women’s contribution to peace
The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) has announced a US $150,000 awards on women’s contribution to promoting peace and stability. The award is part of the 13th edition of IsDB Prize for Women’s Contribution to Development.
The Prize, which is awarded on a yearly basis, consists of cash award of US$ 50,000 for an individual woman, and a cash award of US$ 100,000 for a non-governmental organization.
A statement from the bank said “Winners will receive the awards during the IsDB Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors. The next Annual Meeting would take place in April 2018 in Tunisia.”
IsDB President, Dr. Bandar Hajjar said “The role of women towards peace and stability should be akcnowledged. Women empowerment is one of the strategic pillars of the IsDB 10-Year Strategic Framework.”
The Prize aims at recognizing women’s contribution to the socioeconomic development of the IsDB Member Countries and the Muslim communities in non-member countries.
