IsDB an­nounces $150,000 awards on women’s con­tri­bu­tion to peace

The Is­lamic Devel­op­ment Bank (IsDB) has an­nounced a US $150,000 awards on women’s con­tri­bu­tion to pro­mot­ing peace and sta­bil­ity. The award is part of the 13th edi­tion of IsDB Prize for Women’s Con­tri­bu­tion to Devel­op­ment.

The Prize, which is awarded on a yearly ba­sis, con­sists of cash award of US$ 50,000 for an in­di­vid­ual woman, and a cash award of US$ 100,000 for a non-govern­men­tal or­ga­ni­za­tion.

A state­ment from the bank said “Win­ners will re­ceive the awards dur­ing the IsDB An­nual Meet­ing of the Board of Gov­er­nors. The next An­nual Meet­ing would take place in April 2018 in Tu­nisia.”

IsDB Pres­i­dent, Dr. Ban­dar Ha­j­jar said “The role of women to­wards peace and sta­bil­ity should be akc­nowl­edged. Women em­pow­er­ment is one of the strate­gic pil­lars of the IsDB 10-Year Strate­gic Frame­work.”

The Prize aims at rec­og­niz­ing women’s con­tri­bu­tion to the so­cioe­co­nomic devel­op­ment of the IsDB Mem­ber Coun­tries and the Mus­lim com­mu­ni­ties in non-mem­ber coun­tries.

The dead­line for re­ceiv­ing ap­pli­ca­tions is 30th Novem­ber 2017G (12 Rabi-1 1439H). Ap­pli­ca­tion forms are avail­able on IsDB web­site:
