70 civil servants get houses
Seventy federal civil servants yesterday received keys to two and three bedrooms semi-detached and fully-detached bungalows, as part of the Federal Integrated Staff Housing (FISH) programme.
The Head the Civil Service the Federation, Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita while handing over the keys to beneficiaries said the completed houses were part of the 1025 completed units that would be shared among of of subscribers.
The event also attended by Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, was part of the activities marking the 2017 Civil Service Week.
The houses are located at the De-Ita Emeks Estate Kurudu, Abuja.
The head of service said “As at today, over 48000 off-takers have been registered into the programme with unprecedented passion being expressed by even those outside the public service. The analysis of our database has clearly indicated that 4,025 provisional offer letters have been issued to beneficiaries; more than 2,846 have been processed to Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board (FGSHLB) and some primary mortgage banks for onward transmission to the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN).”
Ngige on his part said the distribution of keys to federal workers showed that the APC administration is fulfilling its campaign promise of providing affordable housing.
