UNIZIK expels 15 students over armed robbery, cultism
Authorities of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State have expelled 15 students of from the institution over cases of armed robbery, harassments, cultism, results forgery, among other vices.
A release issued from the office of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ahaneku, said the decision was reached at the 335th regular meeting of the institution’s management, based on a report of the Students Disciplinary Committee indicting the students.
The expelled students were directed to surrender their identity cards and any other property of the institution in their custody to the security department and keep off entirely from the university premises.
The university management also suspended one Victor Mbaegbu of the department of Science Education for two years over case of phone theft.
Mbaegbu, who was directed to visit the psychology department for both psychotherapy and counselling, was mandated to provide evidence of having received adequate counselling before being recalled to the institution.
