Court con­victs 2 men for re­ceiv­ing stolen prop­erty

A Gudu Up­per Area Court, Abuja, has sen­tenced Aminu Sule and Ado Bala to two months im­pris­on­ment each, for re­ceiv­ing stolen prop­erty.

The judge, Al­haji Umar Ka­garko, gave the con­victs an op­tion of N10,000 fine each af­ter both pleaded guilty to the charge.

Ka­garko, how­ever, granted third ac­cused, Sam­son Dahiru, bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum af­ter he pleaded not guilty to the of­fence.

He ad­journed the case un­til Sept. 26 for hear­ing

Ear­lier, the pros­e­cu­tor, Joshua Ayanna, said one God­win Olisa of Apo, Abuja, re­ported a case of theft at the Apo Po­lice Sta­tion on July 29.

He said the con­victs stole 64 plas­tic chairs, 10 ex­ec­u­tive chairs, two am­pli­fiers, one wire­less mi­cro­phone, cross over dig­i­tal equal­iz­ers, and three rug car­pets from Nobles Fam­ily Church, Apo on the said date.

Ayanna said po­lice traced the items to Sule, Bala and Dahiru who know­ingly pur­chased the said stolen items.

Dahiru pleaded not guilty. (NAN)
