Court convicts 2 men for receiving stolen property
A Gudu Upper Area Court, Abuja, has sentenced Aminu Sule and Ado Bala to two months imprisonment each, for receiving stolen property.
The judge, Alhaji Umar Kagarko, gave the convicts an option of N10,000 fine each after both pleaded guilty to the charge.
Kagarko, however, granted third accused, Samson Dahiru, bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum after he pleaded not guilty to the offence.
He adjourned the case until Sept. 26 for hearing
Earlier, the prosecutor, Joshua Ayanna, said one Godwin Olisa of Apo, Abuja, reported a case of theft at the Apo Police Station on July 29.
He said the convicts stole 64 plastic chairs, 10 executive chairs, two amplifiers, one wireless microphone, cross over digital equalizers, and three rug carpets from Nobles Family Church, Apo on the said date.
Ayanna said police traced the items to Sule, Bala and Dahiru who knowingly purchased the said stolen items.
Dahiru pleaded not guilty. (NAN)
