APGA wants Agbaso arrested

Daily Trust - - LAW - By Abbas Jimoh

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has called for the arrest and prosecution of Chief Martins Agbaso, its erstwhile chairman who was removed by court for allegedly breaking into the national secretariat of the party.

The National Chairman of the party, Dr Victor Oye, told reporters yesterday in Abuja, that Agbaso allegedly carted away some sensitive documents after illegally declaring himself chairman of the party.

Oye said there was no crisis in APGA, adding that it would consolidate its gains in the November 18 Anambra governorship election.

He stated this at the party’s national secretariat, where all the national leaders, state chairmen and other party loyalists paid him a solidarity visit.

He also alleged that Agbaso’s group, apart from carting away sensitive materials and documents, also stole N19 million when it reportedly broke into his office last week Thursday.

“The real owners of the party are here (party’s national secretariat). What happened on Thursday last week was shameful, intolerable, wicked and illegal. But for us they came when we were not there because we had closed from the office,” he said.

He said he had petitioned the police to retrieve the money and the documents allegedly carted away.
