Daily Trust - - OPINION - By Mansur Abubakar

Super Eagles and Chelsea player Victor Moses has described Sunday’s lost to Arsenal in the English Premier League curtain raiser, the charity shield as ‘not the ending we hoped for’ but is looking forward to a successful season with the Blues.

The former Wigan Athletic forward made the comments via social media site Twitter yesterday where he also thanked Chelsea fans for their amazing support despite the disappointing ending to the high intensity game at Wembley which saw Arsenal triumph 4-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

“Not the ending we were hoping for yesterday in the end but we feel fit and ready for a big season ahead. Fans were amazing yesterday (Sunday).” The player who scored Antonio Conte’s side goal wrote.

26-year-old Moses still has a onematch ban (from last season’s FA Cup final against Arsenal) but the English FA allowed him to play the charity shield match, due to the fact the match is considered as a friendly.

The Kaduna born star will now be unavailable to play in Chelsea’s Premier League opener against Burnley on Saturday.
