Niger Potters beg Govt to rehabilitate basketball court

Daily Trust - - SPORT -

The Niger Potters Basketball Club, Minna, yesterday appealed to the state government to rehabilitate its indoor court at the 123 Sports Hall to stop it from begging for a training facility.

Coach Danladi Ndatsu, its Head Coach, made the appeal in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna.

“We are not training on our court at the 123 Sports Hall because it is in bad shape.

“We want the government to rehabilitate the court to enable us train there instead of looking for place to train,’’ he said.

Ndatsu said that the club was currently training at the state’s College of Education Indoor Sports Hall at the mercy of the Provost, who is the current Chairman of the club.

“We are using the Indoor Sports Hall because current chairman is Provost of the college.

“When his tenure expires in the next two months, we have to pay for the hall before we can use it,’’ he said.

He said that in the ongoing Kwesse Basketball Premier League, the club had reached the Conference’s Final 6, scheduled for August 11 to 18 in Kaduna. (NAN) our the
