Enugu-Abakaliki road accident claims 3 lives

A multiple motor accident which occurred at the Nkalagu end of the Abakaliki-Enugu federal highway has led to the death of three people and injury to four others.

A witness Joseph Nweke said the accident was caused by officials of a taskforce on food produce operating on the highway and it involved three lorries.

The FRSC Unit Commander in Nkalagu, Mr Kehinde Ayuba confirmed the accident but said it was one person that lost his life.

“The taskforce officials suddenly stopped one of the lorries heading towards Abakaliki and another lorry coming on top speed, rammed into it and both of them lost control,” he said, adding that the second lorry collided with another lorry heading towards Enugu as the period was early in the morning when there was poor visibility.
