Enugu-Abaka­liki road ac­ci­dent claims 3 lives

A mul­ti­ple mo­tor ac­ci­dent which oc­curred at the Nkalagu end of the Abaka­liki-Enugu fed­eral high­way has led to the death of three peo­ple and in­jury to four oth­ers.

A wit­ness Joseph Nweke said the ac­ci­dent was caused by of­fi­cials of a task­force on food pro­duce op­er­at­ing on the high­way and it in­volved three lor­ries.

The FRSC Unit Com­man­der in Nkalagu, Mr Ke­hinde Ayuba con­firmed the ac­ci­dent but said it was one per­son that lost his life.

“The task­force of­fi­cials sud­denly stopped one of the lor­ries head­ing to­wards Abaka­liki and an­other lorry com­ing on top speed, rammed into it and both of them lost con­trol,” he said, adding that the se­cond lorry col­lided with an­other lorry head­ing to­wards Enugu as the pe­riod was early in the morn­ing when there was poor vis­i­bil­ity.
