Al-Makura revokes 64-kilometre Gitata-Panda-Gurku road
Nasarawa State Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has revoked the contract for the construction of Gitata/Panda/Gurku road in Karu Local Government Area for the inability of the contractor to complete the work according to specifications.
Al-Makura who spoke during the installation and the presentation of 2nd Class Staff of Office to Mr Christopher Jatau, the Uehra Ashea of Kube Chiefdom in Panda, Karu LGA, said, “In spite of government’s efforts to ensure that the construction of Gitata/ Panda/Gurku road project is completed as scheduled, the government is terribly disappointed by the performance of the contractor handling it.”
Al-Makura said that the state government revoked the road contract following the inability of the contractor to complete it after he was paid N3.6 billion.
The governor said the state government upgraded the traditional stool of Uehra Ashea(Koro Chiefdom) from a third to a second class status for the promotion of peace and to give the community a sense of belonging.
Responding the Uehra Ashea of Kube Chiefdom Mr. Christopher Jatau, applauded the governor for upgrading the community stool.
