Al-Makura revokes 64-kilometre Gitata-Panda-Gurku road

Nasarawa State Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has revoked the contract for the constructi­on of Gitata/Panda/Gurku road in Karu Local Government Area for the inability of the contractor to complete the work according to specificat­ions.

Al-Makura who spoke during the installati­on and the presentati­on of 2nd Class Staff of Office to Mr Christophe­r Jatau, the Uehra Ashea of Kube Chiefdom in Panda, Karu LGA, said, “In spite of government’s efforts to ensure that the constructi­on of Gitata/ Panda/Gurku road project is completed as scheduled, the government is terribly disappoint­ed by the performanc­e of the contractor handling it.”

Al-Makura said that the state government revoked the road contract following the inability of the contractor to complete it after he was paid N3.6 billion.

The governor said the state government upgraded the traditiona­l stool of Uehra Ashea(Koro Chiefdom) from a third to a second class status for the promotion of peace and to give the community a sense of belonging.

Responding the Uehra Ashea of Kube Chiefdom Mr. Christophe­r Jatau, applauded the governor for upgrading the community stool.
