Po­lice give N12m to be­reaved fam­i­lies

The Nigeria Po­lice yes­ter­day pre­sented cheques of N12.8 mil­lion to 10 re­la­tions of de­ceased po­lice of­fi­cers in Edo and Delta states un­der the Group Life As­sur­ance Claim Set­tle­ment Scheme.

Pre­sent­ing the cheques, AIG Abubakar Adamu Muhammed said the life as­sur­ance scheme was es­tab­lished for the good of of­fi­cers who died or suf­fered in­juries while serv­ing the coun­try, and as­sured that In­spec­tor Gen­eral of Po­lice Ibrahim Idris was con­cerned about the wel­fare of the po­lice, and in see­ing that the sac­ri­fice of de­ceased po­lice per­son­nel did not go in vain.

“Seven ben­e­fi­cia­ries from Edo State Com­mand re­ceived cheques of N7, 649,769 mil­lion while three from Delta State Com­mand re­ceived N5,107,210,” AIG Adamu ex­plained.
