Group raises con­cern over killings in Kogi Cen­tral District

A group un­der the aegis of Kogi Cen­tral Com­mu­nity De­vel­op­ment As­so­ci­a­tion (KCCDA) has ap­pealed to the Kogi State Govern­ment and se­cu­rity agen­cies to per­fect ur­gent mea­sures to check­mate in­creas­ing cases of killing of tar­geted peo­ple by yet to be iden­ti­fied gun­men.

The group in a state­ment is­sued in Okene yes­ter­day by its pres­i­dent, Com­rade Musa Adi­noyi Isah, said in spite of ef­forts of Gover­nor Ya­haya Bello’s ad­min­is­tra­tion to en­sure peace and se­cu­rity in the area, some el­e­ments were per­pet­u­at­ing in­ces­sant killings.

Isah called on tra­di­tional rulers, com­mu­nity heads and other stake­hold­ers from Kogi Cen­tral to rise and halt the trend.
