Sib­lings ar­raigned over fraud

The Osun State Po­lice Com­mand has ar­raigned a 55-yearold man, Mustapha Owolabi and his 48-year-old sib­ling, Azeez Owolabi, at a mag­is­trate court in Osogbo, over al­leged fraud of N120,000.

The po­lice pros­e­cu­tor, Mr Ajayi Sun­day told the court that the ac­cused per­sons con­spired to col­lect a sum of N120,000. from Matiu Oke and Ode­wale Olayemi at OwodeIg­bona in Osogbo.

He said they failed to of­fer the ser­vice that they were paid for and they re­fused to re­fund his money.

The pros­e­cu­tor told the court that the of­fences com­mit­ted by the ac­cused per­sons were in con­trary to and pun­ish­able un­der sec­tion 421 of the Crim­i­nal, Code 34, Vol­ume 11, Laws of Osun State, Nigeria, 2003.

When the charges were read to the ac­cused per­sons, they pleaded not guilty and their coun­sel, Mr Ab­dul La­teef Im­ran ap­plied for their bail and as­sured that they would pro­vide re­li­able sureties if granted bail.

In his rul­ing, Chief Mag­is­trate Olubukola Awodele granted the ac­cused per­son bail of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum. He ad­journed the case to 8th of Oc­to­ber, 2017.
