Woman arrested for beating up co-tenant
Sergeant Simeon Ihonwa yesterday recounted to an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court how a 30-year-old woman, Vivian Ottah, allegedly assaulted her co-tenant, Modupe Lawal.
Ihonwa alleged that the accused beat the victim who happens to be her co-tenant to pulp when they had a minor domestic quarrel.
Ottah, who resides at Olalubi Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos, is facing a charge of assault.
Simeon Ihonwa told the court that the accused committed the offence on June 22, 2017 at her residence.
Ihonwa said the accused assaulted the complainant over an undisclosed argument they had.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B.O Osunsanmi, granted the accused bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She said the sureties should show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State government.
Osunsanmi adjourned the case till September 14, 2017 for mention.
