Woman ar­rested for beat­ing up co-ten­ant

Sergeant Simeon Ihonwa yes­ter­day re­counted to an Ikeja Chief Mag­is­trates’ Court how a 30-year-old woman, Vi­vian Ot­tah, al­legedly as­saulted her co-ten­ant, Modupe Lawal.

Ihonwa al­leged that the ac­cused beat the vic­tim who hap­pens to be her co-ten­ant to pulp when they had a mi­nor do­mes­tic quar­rel.

Ot­tah, who re­sides at Olalubi Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi, La­gos, is fac­ing a charge of as­sault.

Simeon Ihonwa told the court that the ac­cused com­mit­ted the of­fence on June 22, 2017 at her res­i­dence.

Ihonwa said the ac­cused as­saulted the com­plainant over an undis­closed ar­gu­ment they had.

The Chief Mag­is­trate, Mrs B.O Osun­sanmi, granted the ac­cused bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.

She said the sureties should show ev­i­dence of tax pay­ment to the La­gos State govern­ment.

Osun­sanmi ad­journed the case till Septem­ber 14, 2017 for men­tion.
