Col­lege hon­ours Rochas, Nakande on peace build­ing

The Green Col­lege, Jos has hon­oured Gover­nor Rochas Oko­rocha of Imo State, for­mer min­is­ter of In­for­ma­tion and Com­mu­ni­ca­tion, Al­haji Ibrahim Da­suki Sal­ihu Nakande, Com­man­der, Op­er­a­tion Safe Haven (OPSH) Ma­jor Gen­eral Rogers Ibe Ni­cholas and Ha­jiya Khadi­jah Kas­sim for their pas­sion in pro­mot­ing ed­u­ca­tion and sus­tain­ing na­tional unity, peace and har­mony in Plateau State.

Oth­ers that were also hon­oured dur­ing the Speech and Prize Giv­ing Day or­gan­ised by the col­lege at SSANU Hall, Univer­sity of Jos in­cluded Plateau State Di­rec­tor, DSS, Iro Ab­dul­lahi Dan­musa for his con­tri­bu­tions to­wards na­tional strat­egy for peace; Prof Warisu Ayosheni Ali, Di­rec­tor, Con­sumer Pro­tec­tion, Cen­tral Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Zainab Mu’azu a 14-year-old en­tre­pre­neur.

The Chair­man of Ass­abiqoon In­vest­ment Ltd, who is the pro­pri­etor of the col­lege, said Gover­nor Oko­rocha was hon­ored for his re­lent­less ef­fort in na­tion build­ing and sus­tain­ing peace; Kas­sim, for pro­mot­ing girl-child ed­u­ca­tion; and Nakande for set­ting up of Unity FM that has con­trib­uted im­mensely in the peace ef­forts in the state.
