Paris Club: Court ad­mits firms over link to Yari

A Fed­eral High Court in Abuja has ad­mit­ted two com­pa­nies, over the own­er­ship of part of the N2.2 bil­lion Paris Club re­funds al­legedly di­verted by as­so­ciates of Zam­fara State Gov­er­nor Ab­du­laziz Yari.

Jus­tice Nnamdi Dimgba has ad­mit­ted Moun­tain Quest In­vest­ment Ser­vices Ltd and a law firm, Udem­gaba and As­so­ciates as in­ter­ested par­ties in the for­fei­ture pro­ceed­ings for the funds re­cov­ered by the Nige­rian Gov­er­nors’ Fo­rum (NGF) from ex­cess deductions by the Paris Club lend­ing na­tions.

The funds are part of monies tem­po­rar­ily for­feited to the Fed­eral Govern­ment, fol­low­ing a July 4 or­der by the judge for the for­fei­ture of N500mil­lion NGF funds, moved into First Gen­er­a­tion Mort­gage Bank Ltd, and an­other $500, 000 traced to Gosh Projects Ltd.
