Police parade dealers in human hearts, other suspects
A 35-year-old man Bakare Olalekan who said a human heart was bought for N10,000 from his friend, identified by him as Oye for ‘god luck charm’ was among 55 suspects paraded by the Police in Abeokuta yesterday.
The state Commissioner of Police Ahmed Iliyasu disclosed that Olalekan was part of a four-member syndicate arrested for killing a 16-year-old girl Olayinka Adebayo last year August.
Illiyasu said that after interrogation, Olalekan confessed to have supplied two human hearts to one of the suspects now remanded.
Also among the suspects were a fake Naval officer, Abdullahi Hammed; fake police officer David Olasubomi and fake prophet Kehinde Onanunga.
A mother, Mulika Alaba and her 16-year daughter Olamide Saliu were nabbed for dealing in Indian hemp. Iliyasu disclosed that nine suspects who specialised in vandalisation of telecommunication mast across the state were also arrested.
