Po­lice pa­rade deal­ers in hu­man hearts, other sus­pects

A 35-year-old man Bakare Olalekan who said a hu­man heart was bought for N10,000 from his friend, iden­ti­fied by him as Oye for ‘god luck charm’ was among 55 sus­pects pa­raded by the Po­lice in Abeokuta yes­ter­day.

The state Com­mis­sioner of Po­lice Ahmed Iliyasu dis­closed that Olalekan was part of a four-mem­ber syn­di­cate ar­rested for killing a 16-year-old girl Olayinka Ade­bayo last year Au­gust.

Il­liyasu said that af­ter in­ter­ro­ga­tion, Olalekan con­fessed to have supplied two hu­man hearts to one of the sus­pects now re­manded.

Also among the sus­pects were a fake Naval of­fi­cer, Ab­dul­lahi Hammed; fake po­lice of­fi­cer David Ola­sub­omi and fake prophet Ke­hinde Ona­nunga.

A mother, Mu­lika Alaba and her 16-year daugh­ter Olamide Saliu were nabbed for deal­ing in In­dian hemp. Iliyasu dis­closed that nine sus­pects who spe­cialised in van­dal­i­sa­tion of telecom­mu­ni­ca­tion mast across the state were also ar­rested.
