The Katsina State Government has appointed Deputy Governor Mannir Yakubu as the Amirul Hajj to the 2017 pilgrimage.
A statement by the deputy governor’s media aide, Ibrahim Musa Kallah, yesterday said the amirul hajj had called on pilgrims from the state to be good ambassadors of Nigeria.
Addressing pilgrims during the airlift of the fifth batch from the state, Mannir Yakubu said the 2017 hajj pilgrims would benefit from accommodation, transport and feeding arrangement provided by the state government in Saudi Arabia.
He said the Governor Aminu Bello Masari administration had sponsored 237 officials to assist 4,375 pilgrims for a successful hajj.
