I duped woman of N6m be­cause she was greedy – Her­bal­ist

The po­lice in Edo State have ar­rested an Osun State­based her­bal­ist, Us­man Mo­hammed, for al­legedly de­fraud­ing a woman of the sum of N6 mil­lion.

It was gath­ered that the sus­pect col­lected the money for rit­ual pur­poses that would dou­ble the amount to N12 mil­lion.

Us­man, who was pa­raded along with 70 other sus­pected crim­i­nals ar­rested for var­i­ous crimes by the state po­lice com­mis­sioner, Haliru Gwandu, said the vic­tim was duped be­cause she was greedy and look­ing for what she did not keep.

He said he got N3m as his share while other mem­bers of his gang shared the re­main­ing the N3m.

“I live in Osun State and I was ar­rested there. The vic­tim is from Benin. She pa­tron­izes my of­fice be­cause I do medicine for her. Be­fore she re­quested for money rit­ual, she said I should do some­thing to make her busi­ness to grow.

“When she re­quested for money rit­u­als, I said she must bring the money. She said she has N6 mil­lion, I told her to bring a big bag along with the money and that the money will in­crease to N12 mil­lion as she re­quested.

“She kept the bag in her room for three days as or­dered but when she opened it, there was no money in­side. She came to meet me that the money was not dou­bled but I told her that she was re­spon­si­ble for the rea­son the money did not dou­ble,” he said.

He how­ever said that other mem­bers of his gang were able to es­cape while he was ar­rested by the po­lice.

The po­lice com­mis­sioner, Haliru Gwanu, said the sus­pect would be charged to court as soon as in­ves­ti­ga­tion is com­pleted.
