2019: Group mo­bilises for youth par­tic­i­pa­tion in gov­er­nance

Ahead of the 2019 gen­eral elec­tions, a new group, Talk to 100, was in­au­gu­rated in Abuja yes­ter­day to mo­bilise the na­tion’s youths for ef­fec­tive par­tic­i­pa­tion in gov­er­nance.

Ad­dress­ing jour­nal­ists af­ter the in­au­gu­ral con­fer­ence, the group’s direc­tor of pub­li­ca­tion, Mr Ken­neth Gyado, said “each of the100 foun­da­tion mem­bers would re­cruit 100 per­sons in a mul­ti­level de­vel­op­ment chain across Nige­ria, with a sen­si­ti­za­tion pro­gram­mme aimed at mul­ti­ply­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties.”

Gyado main­tained that it was time the youth took over power, say­ing “They should take over even now, why wait till 2019. In fact, the process of tak­ing over has started by the pas­sage of the Not Too Young To Run Bill al­ready.”
