Kurfi rules Katsina United out of relegation
The Chairman of Katsina United, Alhaji Aminu Balele Kurfi has said his team won’t have anything to do with relegation even as they are not where they wanted to be on the table.
With a total of 43 points from 33 matches, the ‘Chanji boys’ presently occupy the 16th position and in danger of going on relegation.
However, the Senior Special Assistant to Katsina State governor on sports said there is no cause for alarm as the management of the club is doing everything possible to keep the team in the topflight.
He said the away point which the team picked at Rivers United is a morale booster and when the league resumes after the Federation Cup and CHAN qualifiers break, Katsina United will take the fight against relegation to the next level.
Kurfi also said the governor of the state, Aminu Bello Masari is still giving the club the maximum support to ensure they are not relegated.
“It is true we have found ourselves in a precarious position but we are not ready to entertain any fear.
“Our wish was to be somewhere in the middle of the table at this stage of the league but that is not the case. However shall do everything humanly possible to remain in the NPFL.
“Infact His Excellency Governor Aminu Bello Masari has remained committed to the club so we have no reason to fail. We won’t have anything to do with relegation,” he assured.
