NNDC moves to resuscitate Kaduna textile company
The New Nigerian Development Company and a Turkish company, SUR, have entered into a $15 million partnership aimed at resuscitating the Kaduna Textile Limited (KTL).
Speaking after an extensive discussion with top officials of SUR company on Friday, the Executive Director, Investment Supervision Directorate of the NNDC, Alhaji Ali Gombe, who is also the Chairman restructuring committee of KTL, explained that SUR had indicated its willingness to enter into partnership with NNDC towards investing in Kaduna Textile Limited.
He added that when the agreement is accomplished, Kaduna Textile Limited will start producing military and para military uniforms
According to him, KTL will also go into other garments production.
Alhaji Ali Gombe described the move to revitalize Kaduna Textile Limited as laudable as it would, in the long run, turn around the fortunes of the company as well as the socioeconomic development of northern Nigeria and the country as whole.
He said SUR will provide 35 percent of the total funds while the balance would be shared between the Federal Government and 19 Northern states.
