Crip­ple, 7 oth­ers ar­rested over Civil­ian JTF’s mur­der in Kaduna

Po­lice­men of the Op­er­a­tion Ab­so­lute San­ity have ar­rested eight peo­ple, in­clud­ing a crip­ple, over al­leged in­volve­ment in the killing of a mem­ber of Civil­ian JTF in Kaduna.

The po­lice iden­ti­fied the crip­ple as Kamilu Mohammed and the leader of the gang as Umaru Ibrahim Mu­juma.

Other gang mem­bers were iden­ti­fied as Jib­rin Adamu, Sa­maila Haruna, Ibrahim Mohammed, Ibrahim Idris, Iliya Adamu, Ifeanyi Li­nus, and Si­las Kelvin, who were said to be re­ceivers of all stolen items.

The sus­pects are said to have long spe­cial­ized in ter­ror­iz­ing cit­i­zens along the Kaduna-Abuja high­way.

Force Pub­lic Re­la­tions Of­fi­cer (FPRO), Mos­hood Ji­moh, said that their ar­rest was se­quel to the di­rec­tive from the In­spec­tor Gen­eral of Po­lice or­der­ing the team to fish out those be­hind the killing of the civil­ian JTF leader Haruna in his farm at Sabon Gayan Vil­lage in Kaduna State last Sun­day which re­sulted into a protest by vil­lagers that caused traf­fic grid­lock.

The ar­rested sus­pects were pa­raded in Kaduna yes­ter­day by the po­lice which listed ex­hibits re­cov­ered from them to in­clude one AK 47 ri­fle, three lo­cally made guns, one live car­tridge and one Toy­ota Corolla blue colour and one Toy­ota Corolla ýcar.

Ad­dress­ing news­men while parad­ing the sus­pects, Force PRO, CSP Ji­moh Mos­hood said all the sus­pects ar­rested con­fessed to the crime and ad­mit­ted to the var­i­ous roles they played in the com­mis­sion of the of­fences.
