Se­nate leader do­nates N10m to Nguru mar­ket fire vic­tims

The Se­nate Leader and Chair­man, SAIL Youth Em­pow­er­ment Foun­da­tion, Dr. Ah­mad Lawan has do­nated N10 mil­lion to the vic­tims of Nguru mar­ket fire dis­as­ter in Yobe State.

Sen­a­tor Lawan said while in­spect­ing the burnt mar­ket that the vic­tims needed ur­gent sup­port, lament­ing, “Nguru mar­ket has had bit­ter taste of this in­ferno with un­told hard­ship on the vic­tims. It is my prayer that this is the last.”

The Chair­man, Nguru Mar­ket Traders As­so­ci­a­tion, Al­haji Ra­bilu Al­has­san, as­sured that the money would be dis­trib­uted fairly among the vic­tims to re­gain their lost wares.

“We have seen in the se­nate leader a re­li­able rep­re­sen­ta­tive of the peo­ple of Yobe North se­na­to­rial zone,” he said.

Al­haji Us­man Nguru, a trader who lost a shop to the fire, said the do­na­tion would con­trib­ute greatly to pur­sue their means of liveli­hood.

A tai­lor Musa kalamu, said, ‘If gov­ern­ment, agen­cies and other phi­lan­thropists will come to our aid with speed like the sen­a­tor, we will have lit­tle prob­lem.”
