Masari proposes N211.4bn budget for 2018
The Katsina State government has announced a budget proposal of N211.4bn for the 2018 fiscal year.
Of the total, N51.4 billion is for recurrent expenditure while N160 billion is for capital expenditure.
The 2018 proposal, higher than that of 2017 by N71.3 billion, is to be financed from expected N10.2 billion as Internally Generated Revenues, N26.2 billion as ‘other Internal Revenue’ and N131.1 billion as Revenue Receivable through the Federation Account.
Presenting the proposal before the state House of Assembly, Governor Aminu Masari said Education sector, with N42.4 billion topped sectoral allocation, followed by Health with N23,8 billion.
Masari said the proposal, tagged ‘Budget of Actualization,’ was meant to actualize the government’s Restoration Agenda.
The Speaker, Abubakar Kusada, promised to give the budget a speedy passage for early implementation.
