Po­lice nab sus­pects over bike op­er­a­tor’s death

Two sus­pected mo­tor­cy­cle rob­bers, Mu­tiu Azeez and Afo­labi May­owa, have been ap­pre­hended by the po­lice over the killing of a com­mer­cial mo­tor­cy­cle op­er­a­tor, Ola­tokun May­owa, at Irag­biji, Osun State.

The Com­mis­sioner of Po­lice in the state, Fim­i­han Adeoye, who pa­raded the sus­pects at the head­quar­ters of the Osun State Po­lice Com­mand, Osogbo, said 37-year-old Azeez, pop­u­lar known as Tom­bolo, and his 36-year-old ac­com­plice May­owa had con­fessed they mur­dered the mo­tor­cy­clist and stole his mo­tor­cy­cle.

Adeoye said in­for­ma­tion had come to the po­lice through the palace of the Arag­biji of Irag­biji, Oba Ab­dul Rasheed Olabomi, that an un­known corpse was dis­cov­ered at a com­mu­nity around the Osaji vil­lage farm, along Egbeda road.

The po­lice Com­mis­sioner said, “The corpse was met tied to a co­coa tree with a rope and was se­ri­ously in­jured on the head. The de­ceased was later iden­ti­fied to be one com­mer­cial mo­tor­cy­clist named Ola­tokun May­owa, a male, aged 21 years.”
