Police nab suspects over bike operator’s death
Two suspected motorcycle robbers, Mutiu Azeez and Afolabi Mayowa, have been apprehended by the police over the killing of a commercial motorcycle operator, Olatokun Mayowa, at Iragbiji, Osun State.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Fimihan Adeoye, who paraded the suspects at the headquarters of the Osun State Police Command, Osogbo, said 37-year-old Azeez, popular known as Tombolo, and his 36-year-old accomplice Mayowa had confessed they murdered the motorcyclist and stole his motorcycle.
Adeoye said information had come to the police through the palace of the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdul Rasheed Olabomi, that an unknown corpse was discovered at a community around the Osaji village farm, along Egbeda road.
The police Commissioner said, “The corpse was met tied to a cocoa tree with a rope and was seriously injured on the head. The deceased was later identified to be one commercial motorcyclist named Olatokun Mayowa, a male, aged 21 years.”
