NRC chairman, Usman Abubakar, dies at 68
The chairman of Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Engr Usman Abubakar, has passed on at the age of 68.
Family sources said he died in yesterday at a hospital in Abuja and his remains will be buried today in Daura.
The late Abubakar hailed from Sandamu local government in Katsina State.
He was appointed chairman of NRC on September 27, 2016 by President Muhammadu Buhari. He served as commissioner of works in Katsina State in 1987.
At various times, he was the chairman Jebba Paper Mills, Daura Tannery, and Interlinked Technologies, a private company.
He is survived by a wife Hajiya Rabi Sule Maiyawo, and three children: Lawal Abubakar, Engr Buhari Abubakar and Engr Mustapha Abubakar.
