NILDS matriculates first HND students
The National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) has matriculated 24 students as part of its first Higher National Diploma (HND) programme.
At the matriculation ceremony yesterday at the National Assembly, Abuja, the Director General of the institute, Prof Ladi Hamalai, said the students would undergo serious studies in official reporting.
She said the HND programme was accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), adding that the institute would give the students the best in their programme, which is for 2017/2018 session.
“As pioneers of this programme, a lot is expected of you. I therefore wish to advise you all to make the best of this unique opportunity to improve your skills, knowledge and experience in reporting parliamentary proceedings accurately and comprehensively,” she said.
Speaking, the Clerk to the National Assembly (CNA), Mohammed SaniOmolori urged the students to ensure that they make the best of the opportunity offered them to study.
Also, the Head of Service of the Federation (HoS), Winifred Oyo-Ita, represented by Mr Yakubu Austin John, commended the institute for coming up with the programme.
