The Benin Zone of the Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST), said it is partnering with Keystone Bank and LAPO Microfinance Bank on agent banking as part of effort to ensure financial inclusion in its area of operation.

NIPOST Benin Zonal Manager, Abubakar Danlami, disclosed this while speaking with journalists shortly after presenting award to four of its customers for exceptional patronage as part of activities marking the World Postal Day.

“We have gone into agent banking because of the central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) policy of financial inclusion. More than 55 percent of Nigeria cannot access banking services in the country, so with NIOST spread all over the country we can reduce that,”.

“In Benin zone, we have been able to collaborate with Keystone Bank to install two ATM machines at Sabogida-Ora, so that people can access banking service and that is the financial inclusion that we are talking about,” he said.
