Olonisakin insisted that teachers needed to be conversant with relevant techniques that would enhance their thinking and teaching skills. On his part, Mr Kunle Olatunji, who is the lead consultant with IBM ventures, partnering with DEPOWA to train the teachers, said students were beginning to learn online, hence the pandemic situation called for such a new method and Nigerian should adapt to it too. The Defence and Police Officers Wives Associatio­n (DEPOWA) has trained teachers in all DEPOWA schools on blended learning techniques. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the three-day training programme, the president of the associatio­n, Dr Bolanle Olonisakin, said due to the COVID-19 pandemic, blended learning technique of teaching and learning was the new normal. She said the blended technique seeks to provide students with the best of both face-to-face and online learning experience­s.
