Cross River CJ dies at 63
The Chief Judge of Cross River State, Justice Okoi Ikpi Itam, died yesterday at the age of 63. Christian Ita, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ben Ayade, confirmed his death. He said the governor was saddened by the death and that he described it as a huge loss to the state. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Prosecution Matters, Chief Okoi Obono-Obla, a relative of the late Chief Judge, also lamented the loss.
The state will soon announce the funeral arrangements, Daily Trust on Sunday gathered. Justice Okoi Itam was confirmed as the substantive Chief Judge of Cross River State in 2013, following the retirement of Justice Dorothy Eyamba-Idem.
