Boko Haram Opens Fire on Trav­ellers in Borno

Gun­men sus­pected to be Boko Haram mil­i­tants yes­ter­day opened fire at pri­vate and com­mer­cial ve­hi­cles along the Maiduguri-Dam­boa road in Borno State.

Ve­hi­cles go­ing to south­ern part of the state from Maiduguri, the cap­i­tal, usu­ally es­corted by the se­cu­rity per­son­nel, as­sem­bled at Mo­lai on the out­skirts of the city where they were at­tacked.

There, Daily Trust on Sun­day learnt that shortly be­fore tak­ing off, some gun­men sud­denly ap­peared and shot spo­rad­i­cally, killing scores and in­jur­ing many.

At the time of fil­ing this re­port, there was no com­ment from any of the se­cu­rity agen­cies on the at­tack.
