Dabo Babes tackle Sharada United in Dikko Cup semis

Kano’s foot­ball fol­low­ers are in for a treat this af­ter­noon as one of the most re­spected teams in the state Dabo Babes bat­tles the en­er­getic Sharada United in the semi­fi­nal of the on­go­ing Shehu Dikko Cup at the Sani Abacha Sta­dium by 4pm.

The Cup was or­ga­nized to hon­our the League Man­age­ment Com­pany chair­man Shehu Dikko whose achieve­ments in the Nige­ria Pro­fes­sional Foot­ball League are un­prece­dented and ac­cord­ing to Muza­m­mil, one of the care­tak­ers of the events, the show­piece has lived up to ex­pec­ta­tions so far.

Muza­m­mil also took out time to hail the ef­forts of Al­haji Shar­iff Rabiu Inuwa Aha­lan, the Kano Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion Chair­man and a mem­ber of the NFF ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tee for his im­mense con­tri­bu­tions to­wards the suc­cess­ful host­ing of the Cup.

“If you look at the progress in re­cent years in the Nige­ria Pro­fes­sional Foot­ball League, the high level in terms of qual­ity of play, in­creased turn out in sta­di­ums and the La Liga ini­tia­tive, all these shows how Shehu Dikko has turned things around and this Cup is just a way of hon­our­ing him.” He said.
