NSCDC de­ploys 1000 per­son­nel in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Com­mand of the Nigeria Se­cu­rity and Civil De­fence Corps (NSCDC) has de­ployed over 1000 of­fi­cers and men across the state to en­sure a hitch free In­de­pen­dent an­niver­sary cel­e­bra­tion.

The NSCDC Com­man­dant in the state, Lawal Bashir Kano, in a statement signed by the com­mand’s Public Re­la­tions Of­fi­cer, Aso Ok­ereke, said that in line with the na­tional head­quar­ters di­rec­tives, the Corps has come up with an op­er­a­tional or­der whereby of­fi­cers and men are de­ployed at strate­gic lo­ca­tions for sur­veil­lance and pro­tec­tion of crit­i­cal in­fra­struc­ture and na­tional as­sets from the ac­tiv­i­ties of van­dals.

The com­man­dant charged ci­ti­zens of the state to de­sist from un­pa­tri­otic act and ut­ter­ances that are ca­pa­ble of caus­ing ha­tred and mis­un­der­stand­ing among var­i­ous sec­tions of the so­ci­ety, stress­ing the need for peo­ple to live in peace with their neigh­bours ir­re­spec­tive of eth­nic, re­li­gious and po­lit­i­cal lean­ings.

He ex­plained that all Area Com­mand, Divi­sions and Out-post of the ser­vice are at alert in case of any even­tu­al­ity, charg­ing peo­ple to go about their normal busi­nesses with­out fear of be­ing mo­lested as the Corps is equal to the task of en­sur­ing the se­cu­rity of lives and prop­erty in con­junc­tion with other se­cu­rity agen­cies.
