Ajayi is best for­eign player in Egypt

Nige­ria’s Ju­nior Ajayi who just got in­vi­ta­tion to the Su­per Ea­gles, has been named the best for­eign player in the Egypt League.

Al Ahly said on its of­fi­cial web­site that the Nige­rian for­ward was given the award dur­ing the an­nual Ahram awards held on Fri­day evening in Cairo.

His Al Ahly team­mate Ahmed Fathi was also given the player of the year award.

Ajayi has played 44 matches and scored 16 goals since he joined Al Ahly from CS Fax­ien of Tu­nisia in 2016.

The 22 year old is in Ger­not Rohr’s 28-man squad list that will play in the Su­per Ea­gles’ friendly games against Poland and Ser­bia later this month.

Ajayi was selected by Nige­ria for the 18-man squad for the 2016 Sum­mer Olympics af­ter help­ing the team to qual­ify to Rio with his de­ci­sive goals.
