Ganduje, Shekarau, NCC boss bag Kano heroes award
Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, former Minister of Education, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau and Executive Vice Chairman of the National Communication Commission, Professor Umar Garba Dambatta, were among the recipients of the Kano Heroes Awards.
Other recipients were the first Kano civilian governor, the late Muhammadu Abubakar Rimi, former governor of Kano State, the late Audu Bako, the late Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero and the late Yusuf Maitama Sule, the Danmasanin Kano.
Also conferred with the award are the Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammad Sanusi ll, the late General Murtala Mohammed, Kano State Commissioner of Agriculture, Alhaji Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and Danadalan Kano, Alhaji Isyaku Umar Tofa, among others.
The award was conferred on the personalities by the Destiny Channels Broadcasting Network.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after he received the award, the Executive Vice Chairman of National Communication Commission (NCC), Prof. Dambatta, called on Nigerian youths to brace up to the challenges of life and remain focused in their chosen careers.
