Where is APC for Ogbomoso?

Readers should not be confused by the topic of this piece. APC in this context is the Armored Personnel Carrier. During his glorious era in Oyo State, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala, bought six armored personnel carriers for the state. Out of these, one was stationed in Ogbomoso to wade off security threat to the city. That was at the wake of incessant and sporadic incursion of armed robbers into Ogbomoso and Oyo State at large. There is no doubt the measure was effective. However, for quite some time, we have not seen the APC in the town. I am, therefore, using this medium to ask the relevant authorities, either the police or Oyo State government of the whereabouts of the war machine? Obviously, men of Operation Burst, the SARS operatives and the regular police, among others, are doing their best to make Ogbomoso a safe place. However, with the state of insecurity in the nation, particularly the recent armed robbery incident in the neighbouring Offa town in Kwara State which a leading columnist has tagged, Offa massacre, I think security needs to be beefed up in Ogbomoso. And in doing this, the role of the APC cannot be overemphasized. Therefore, on behalf of the town, I am soliciting the return of the vehicles to our streets. A stitch in time, they say, saves nine.
