FG determined to secure release of captives of Boko Haram – Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari has assured the Federal Government’s determination to secure the release of captives of Boko Haram insurgents.
Speaking at the Passing out Parade and oath-taking ceremony of cadets of the 65 Regular Course (Army) and 66 Regular Course (Navy and Air Force) in Kaduna yesterday Buhari further assured that no stone will be left unturned in the struggle to secure the release of innocent Nigerians.
Represented by the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Buhari said the Federal Government was working with the states, international communities and various NonGovernmental Organisations in order to free the country from insurgency.
“We shall continue to demonstrate zero tolerance for crime in Nigeria. Recently, I spoke to the parents of Leah Shuib and I assured them of the release of their daughter,” he said.
While saluting the soldiers for their relentless efforts in the fight against Boko Haram especially in the North-East, the President said the present administration was committed to the welfare of the military.
He further stressed that before the inception of this administration, insurgency was at its peak, saying today the narratives has changed for better.
He urged the graduating officers to always be dedicated and maintain the spirit of broadbased training received from the Academy.
