FG de­ter­mined to se­cure re­lease of cap­tives of Boko Haram – Buhari

Pres­i­dent Muham­madu Buhari has as­sured the Fed­eral Gov­ern­ment’s de­ter­mi­na­tion to se­cure the re­lease of cap­tives of Boko Haram in­sur­gents.

Speak­ing at the Pass­ing out Pa­rade and oath-tak­ing cer­e­mony of cadets of the 65 Reg­u­lar Course (Army) and 66 Reg­u­lar Course (Navy and Air Force) in Kaduna yes­ter­day Buhari fur­ther as­sured that no stone will be left un­turned in the strug­gle to se­cure the re­lease of in­no­cent Nige­ri­ans.

Rep­re­sented by the Vice Pres­i­dent, Pro­fes­sor Yemi Os­in­bajo, Buhari said the Fed­eral Gov­ern­ment was work­ing with the states, in­ter­na­tional com­mu­ni­ties and var­i­ous Non­Govern­men­tal Or­gan­i­sa­tions in or­der to free the coun­try from in­sur­gency.

“We shall con­tinue to demon­strate zero tol­er­ance for crime in Nige­ria. Re­cently, I spoke to the par­ents of Leah Shuib and I as­sured them of the re­lease of their daugh­ter,” he said.

While salut­ing the sol­diers for their re­lent­less ef­forts in the fight against Boko Haram es­pe­cially in the North-East, the Pres­i­dent said the present ad­min­is­tra­tion was com­mit­ted to the wel­fare of the mil­i­tary.

He fur­ther stressed that be­fore the in­cep­tion of this ad­min­is­tra­tion, in­sur­gency was at its peak, say­ing to­day the nar­ra­tives has changed for bet­ter.

He urged the grad­u­at­ing of­fi­cers to al­ways be ded­i­cated and main­tain the spirit of broad­based train­ing re­ceived from the Academy.
