Casil­las wants Spain re­turn

Iker Casil­las is re­port­edly keen to play in­ter­na­tional foot­ball again un­der Spain man­ager Luis En­rique, de­spite be­ing left out of the squad for two years. The former Real Madrid goal­keeper is in good form at Porto this sea­son, hav­ing earned clean sheets in his last three games for the club.

The 37-year-old’s last ap­pear­ance for Spain was in a vic­tory over North Korea back in June 2016 dur­ing the Euro­pean Cham­pi­onships.

Ac­cord­ing to AS, Casil­las con­tacted En­rique ear­lier this week about a po­ten­tial re­turn to the in­ter­na­tional set-up.

The re­port adds that no de­ci­sion has been made by the Spain boss over whether Casil­las will be part of his 23-man squad in the near fu­ture.
