Kevin Love to miss at least six weeks after surgery
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love underwent surgery on his injured toe Friday and will miss at least six weeks. The team announced that Love had the procedure, calling it successful, at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. The surgery was performed by Dr. Martin O’Malley.
Love said earlier this week that he wasn’t sure how long he would be out with a painful big toe injury on his left foot. The injury has bothered him since the preseason opener and affected his ability to walk.
Love has played in four games this season, averaging 19 points and 13.5 rebounds. He has missed 45 games because of injuries over the past two seasons. The five-time All-Star signed a four-year, $120 million contract extension this summer.
