Side Hustle

The Punch - - SWAG! - Happiness Samuel, 28

I am a teacher at a Montessori school in Lagos. I work with students who find it difficult to read and identify letters. I also organise spelling competitions for the school. My side hustle is being an event planner. I have always loved parties. Right from childhood, I looked forward to attending parties. I developed the interest in planning events right from secondary school. I was always in charge of organising class parties and different celebrations. When I got into the university, I started the business officially and after a short while, the business grew to a point where I got invited to different parts of the country to plan events. Combining my business with my main job can be hectic because they are both demanding. However, I schedule my business in a way that it will not affect my main job. Also, I have put together a terrific team that I depend on to stand in for me when I am away.

I aspire to build a world class company that will give event management a new face and create something that will give back to society.
