Recently, The Oxford and Cambridge Club of Nigeria hosted its annual may Ball at The Wings, Victoria Island with a masqued theme this year. Approximately 350 people, a mélange of alumni and non-alumni, gathered for hours to enjoy a wonderful evening of entertainment and networking.

The evening was highlighted by the launch of the Club’s first endowment initiative. In recent years, the Club has garnered financial support from its alumni community in partnership with the Cambridge Trust and now, with the endowment initiative, it hopes to be able to send more bright men and women to the universities of Oxford and Cambridge, people who would otherwise not be able to attend for financial reasons. The Club welcomes the opportunity to work with other organizations who share a similar vision. Thus it was inspiring to hear mrs Adekanla Adegoke, from the Oando foundation, a partner organisation at the event discuss the vision of the foundation in supporting local education initiatives across the country.

Then toasts were made, more food was served and the night was topped with fireworks, laughter and dancing. We look forward with anticipation to next year’s may Ball.
