He made this known in Abuja while responding to the poser by one of the patrons of the association, ex-boy Ibrahim Haruna (rtd), who questioned the rationale behind the name of the association during the investiture of patrons and induction of new ex-boys, organised by the NMS FCT chapter.

According to Ombo, “we will set up a committee to see how the name of the alumni can be changed. We are very happy that the Abuja chapter is championing the solidarity of the association. The Abuja chapter has it all to drive it on.”

“NMS was established by a constitution and cannot be water-down anyhow. NMS is coming back to status quo. The boys are beginning to carry arms. Military training has been brought back to school. The entering age has been reverted back to 12 from nine that it was two years ago.”

In his remarks, Maj-Gen. Ibrahim Haruna (rtd) said exboys are patriotic Nigerians who have contributed to the survival of the country. “We have made our mark in pulling ourselves at the forefront to keep this country together.”

The Chairman, Ex-boys, FCT chapter, Mr. Hassan Abdul, said the association aims at creating enduring structures that would make the FCT chapter and the association in general add real value to the lives of its members that impact on NMS and be a force for good in the society.
