Gov’t plans in­crease pupils’ en­rol­ment

The Chair­man, Benue State Univer­sal Ba­sic Ed­u­ca­tion, (SUBEB), Rev. Phillip Tachin, has dis­closed that plans were in the off­ing for more pupils’ en­rol­ment into pri­mary schools across the state this year.

Tachin in an in­ter­view with Daily Trust in Makurdi, Benue State, said that the board will in ad­di­tion to the fed­eral gov­ern­ment’s school feed­ing pro­gramme ex­pected to com­mence soon in the state will in­tro­duce com­put­ers in all the pub­lic pri­mary schools.

“We will also give out free gifts to pupils in pri­mary schools across 23 lo­cal gov­ern­ment ar­eas of the state as well as en­gaged stake­hold­ers in mas­sive cam­paigns, es­pe­cially at the ru­ral ar­eas to at­tract chil­dren back to school,” he said.
