… Hosts Ugan­dan pres­i­dent at Aso Rock

Pres­i­dent Muham­madu Buhari yes­ter­day re­ceived Ugan­dan Pres­i­dent Yow­eri Mu­sev­eni at the Aso Rock Pres­i­den­tial Villa in Abuja where they met be­hind closed doors.

Ad­dress­ing State House cor­re­spon­dents af­ter the two-hour meet­ing, Mu­sev­eni said he hoped to float a na­tional air­line and build a rail line to fa­cil­i­tate move­ment from Uganda to Nige­ria.

He said both na­tions had so far en­joyed mu­tual re­la­tion­ship, es­pe­cially in the area of se­cu­rity, say­ing Ugan­dan mil­i­tary per­son­nel were of­ten sent to Nige­ria’s de­fence in­sti­tu­tions for train­ing.

The Ugan­dan leader said he was pleased with the hos­pi­tal­ity given him by Buhari.

Buhari’s wife, Aisha, also re­ceived the Ugan­dan first lady, Janet Mu­sev­eni, and re­stated her re­solve to change the neg­a­tive out­comes as­so­ci­ated with women and chil­dren in Nige­ria es­pe­cially in the ar­eas of health, em­pow­er­ment and ed­u­ca­tion.
