Lions club do­nates items to flood vic­tims

The Lions Club In­ter­na­tional, Dis­trict 404, Nige­ria, has do­nated re­lief ma­te­ri­als worth over N10mil­lion to the vic­tims of flood­ing in Benue State.

The Dis­trict Gover­nor, Ephraim Ak­waowo, who pre­sented the dona­tion at the In­ter­nally Dis­placed Peo­ples (IDP) camp at the Ul­tra-Mod­ern In­ter­na­tional Mar­ket in Makurdi, said it was the cul­ture of the or­gan­i­sa­tion to show sup­port to vic­tims of nat­u­ral dis­as­ter.

Ak­waowo re­marked that the trauma the flood vic­tims were go­ing through could only be imag­ined as he prayed God to con­sole them and the state govern­ment for the losses suf­fered so far.

Also the Pres­i­dent of the Lions Club in Benue State, Pa­tri­cia Kpuchi, com­mended mem­bers of the club world­wide for their quick re­sponse to ren­der the home­less as­sis­tance and mak­ing life more bear­able for them.

Re­ceiv­ing the items, the state deputy gover­nor and chair­man of the flood com­mit­tee, En­gi­neer Ben­son Abounu, thanked the club for iden­ti­fy­ing with Benue peo­ple in their hour of need.
